The Team are now setting

10.38
The Team are now setting off for NYC, although the rooms aren't available until 15.00. Alternativeyl, they could have a morning in this blasted wasteland, in a hotel which looks & feels like a hospital ward for the elderly. There are parts of the greater Asbury Park which are stunning - old timbered houses beside a river - but everywhere the integrity of the space is interrupted by levelled plots, an out-of-place concrete parking garage which towers over the surroundings, brick apartment buildings next to a timbered row: that is, very much like most English towns & villages which have surrendered to or been conquered by a lack of care and/or its vanquishing, evidenced by the physical shaping of space and the constructions placed within it.

Let's hope Bruce Springstten's Stone Pony, a new club near the shore front, will strengthen the heart of this town.

Now, I'm off to JFK to meet The Little Horse in from England, courtesy of Guitar Craft Delivery Systems, NJ Division. This is to be a surprise: Toyah expects to meet me at the hotel in downtown.
